International Calls with Instant Dial Landline Access Numbers
Instant Dial Access Numbers starting 08 and 09 are known as "special rate" numbers. This is because each number has a special fixed price, so the rates that you see on Call Checker will be the rate that you are billed by BT, Sky, o2 Landline, Orange Landline, Plus.net and TalkTalk (08 numbers). Calls from a Virgin phone are slightly higher and can be found on Call Checker's FAQs page. Calls are charged from time of connection to the service. The charge is incurred even if the destination number is engaged or the call is not answered. Therefore we advise to replace the handset after a short period if the calls are engaged or unanswered.
How to make a call?
Simply select the country to which you wish to make a call to from the drop down menu at the top of the page. This will take you to the relevant country page where you will see a list of suppliers. Look for Access Number under Service Type and select the supplier you wish to use and the rate you want to pay, then all you have to do is call the access number.
So, to make an international call using the landline access numbers on Call Checker:
- Dial the Access number for the rate you wish to pay
- When you hear the recorded message, dial the full international number starting with "00"
How am I Billed?
You will be billed the rate advertised on Call Checker by your network provider for the call to the access number. Neither Call Checker nor the suppliers charge you any additional fees for using the service. The cost of international calls is included in the advertised rate. If you are using the access numbers with a mobile phone you will need to check with your mobile network operator as they may charge a higher rate.
